Amateur Dubs Reloads
Kansas road warriors, Dynamic Discs will roll into the Carolinas for the fourth time this year, this time to run the United States Amateur Doubles Championships (Sept. 29-30th).
For the second year in a row, the tournament will focus on amateurs, though this year pros with ratings less than 970 will also be welcome.
Dynamic Discs’ Jeremy Rusco said his crew will produce an amped-up atmosphere for the players with on-time starts and a bevy of merchandise to pick from.
“We’re definitely excited to get out there,” said Rusco, after returning home around midnight from running a tourney in Texas.
With more room for am’s last year, the tournament filled for the first time. Taking the title by 12 strokes were Buddy Tritt and Scott Vaughan of Charlotte.
Tournament check-in is 12 to 6 p.m. on Friday Sept. 28th at Eastway Park and continues Saturday from 7 to 8:30 a.m. prior to the player meeting and round one. Eastway will use a (6-6-6) format while alternate shot will be used for the second round at Kilborne Park.
The final round, at the Winthrop Gold Course, will utilize tee times beginning at 9 a.m. The Player Party is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Saturday at the Ice House in Charlotte.
Just a day after the U.S. Doubles, the Dynamic Disc crew will also be running the USDGC Monday Qualifier on Oct. 1st.
These events are part of another busy year for the Emporia, KS based company, which is no stranger to traveling across the country to run tournaments.
