Behind the Scenes with Rock & Pat

The Monday of Championship week is ALWAYS hectic; off the chart.  Last chance qualifying, Innova Team members coming in to do their shopping, everyone working hard to complete so many tasks that have to be done prior to Tuesday evening festivities and Wednesday AM tee-times.  Glad we got a chance to chill out at the rig on Sunday.  Pat and I did put 9 hours(together) in at the Center for Player Pack Construction on Saturday were we assembled the Player Specific sub-assembly (two items of clothing and credentials). Organized, bagged, sealed, alphabetized and boxed…ready for delivery to the player banquet on Tuesday night.  I was happy to hear Harold at lunch on Friday suggest that if we were only able to pass out a partial player pack on Monday (as originally planned for this year) at registration/check-in then it would be better to wait until Tuesday when the pack would be complete.  Today/Monday we received 5 items for the player pack that had to be handled to complete same.  Those items were:  Program, DVD, tourny hoody and sticker, and a medicinal balm.  Added to at least a dozen other items that make up the package.  I am pleased to report that with the assistance of Mike Ellis we were able to complete the task of getting all the Player Pack items ready for transport to the banquet for the players that will take place Tuesday evening in downtown Rock Hill. Afterwards, we picked up Angela Plyler at the Player Hospitality Area at WG and drove downtown to check out the location for Player Pack dispersal which serves double-duty for the volunteer/staff dinner and last minute round up.  All we have to do tomorrow is transport 60+ boxes of player goodies to the dispersal point and set them up so the other volunteers that help us pass out those goods can do so in an efficient manner.  That’s the goal.  I’m sure the players will like their package.  Here’s a hint;  The Boss is a clear winner.
