Owens Leads in Hott Shott

Devan Owens leads the Hott Shott putting competition after two days of qualifying. Player qualifying will end after today, leading up to the Hott Shott putting finals on Saturday before the distance showcase.

Owens of Owasso, Okla., scored 445 out of a total of 525 points. Ken Franks, of Overland Park, Kansas, isn’t far behind with 435 points.

In Hott Shott there are six putting stations with five discs each that start at five feet from the basket and continue to 30 feet away. Players start at the 5-foot station and try to make as many as possible. As players continue to each further station, the point values increase as well.

After the final putt drops on Saturday, the top two point earners (plus ties) from the week will square-off before the distance showcase.
